SNR-2006-07-24-#30 - Mick Fanning wins the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay

Mick Fanning wins the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay by defeating good friend Taj Burrow. With an increase in swell and near perfect 4-6 ft conditions Taj and Mick battled back and forth in the final. With just a few minutes to go and Taj only needing an 8.41 after Mick posting an 8.73 the perfect set wave rolled in with Taj’s priority. As Mick watched his win potentially slip away Taj buried  a rail and went down. The bell rung and Mick was the winner. This puts Mick now at the number 8 spot and pushes Taj up to the number 2 spot. Watch out Kelly, the heat is on!!
